Dear Families,

I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable half-term break. What a week it has been! The weather throughout the holiday has been absolutely glorious, and I hope you managed to make the most of the sunshine while staying safe. It is slightly cooler this week, which may come as a welcome relief.

For those of you who are Arsenal supporters, you will no doubt have enjoyed seeing the team crowned Premier League champions for the first time in 22 years. Growing up in North London and living only 15 minutes from the Emirates Stadium meant I was able to witness the celebrations first-hand. For those who support a different team, or have absolutely no interest in football whatsoever, thank you for indulging me for a moment—we can now return to school matters (at least until the World Cup starts)!

As we officially return tomorrow for the final half-term of the academic year, it is time to prepare ourselves for the final stretch. This half-term is often one of the busiest and most rewarding.

For many of our children, this period marks an important transition as they prepare for secondary school. Transition can be both exciting and daunting. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be working closely with local secondary schools and the Local Authority to ensure every child feels confident and well-prepared for this next step.

This half-term is packed with exciting events, so please keep an eye on the events calendar we’ve sent out. Additionally, we’ll soon share the Autumn Term dates, so watch for those as well.

I’d also like to let you know that we’ll soon be sending out a parent survey. Your feedback is invaluable to us, so please keep an eye out for the link that will be sent soon. Completing your views online helps us understand what you’re thinking and how we can continue to improve the school. It’s always wonderful to hear positive experiences as well!

As always, thank you for your continued support. We look forward to a productive and successful final half-term and to celebrating all our children achieve.

Warm regards,

Ms M Nwankiti

Headteacher

A huge well done to all of our Year 6 children for the way they approached their SATs assessments before the half-term break. We were incredibly proud of the maturity, resilience and determination they demonstrated throughout the week. They arrived each day with a positive attitude, gave their very best effort and supported one another brilliantly.

Whilst SATs are an important milestone, they are only one measure of a child's achievements. We know that our Year 6 pupils have many talents, strengths and qualities that cannot be measured in a test, and we are immensely proud of each and every one of them.

A reminder that SATs results will be shared with schools later in the summer term and will be included in your child's end-of-year report. In the meantime, our focus remains on ensuring that our Year 6 children enjoy their final weeks of primary school, continue to work hard and create lasting memories before they move on to secondary education.

Summer Fête Raffle Donations

As part of our upcoming Summer Fête, we will be holding a raffle to help raise funds for the school. We would be incredibly grateful for any donations that could be used as raffle prizes.

If you have any gifts, unwanted new items, bottles, chocolates, gift sets, vouchers or other suitable prizes that you would be willing to donate, we would be delighted to receive them. Every contribution, no matter how small, will help make our raffle a success.

Donations can be brought into the school office from now until [insert date].

Thank you for your continued support and generosity. We look forward to seeing you at the Summer Fete!

Year 5 Artwork

Year 5 have certainly been getting creative in Art this term! Inspired by the work of Christina Morali and their learning about Ancient Greece, the children got their hands dirty creating their own clay pots. They explored shape, pattern and texture, taking inspiration from traditional Ancient Greek pottery while adding their own creative touches. There was plenty of enthusiasm, teamwork and, of course, a little bit of mess along the way!
