Date for your diaries.. Saturday 30th June Roding Summer Fete.

Although it doesn’t quite seem like summer is getting any nearer, we are confident the sun is just around the corner!! Planning has already started for this years summer fete and the main event of the Roding Calender this year is taking place on Saturday 30th June.

We are confident this year’s summer fete, will be bigger and better than last year’s successful fete, however we can  only make this happen if the parents/carers and school community get involved and together make it a day to remember for everyone!!!

The funds raised from this years fete, will contribute to the money we have already raised to go towards the ongoing outdoor projects: The Mound and play equipment for the playgrounds, so it is very important we have a good turn out.

Apart from coming to the fete, there are many ways  you can help. If you have any unwanted gifts, donations for the tombola or raffle, these would be gratefully received. Just pop them into the office, where we have a PFA box. Please feel free to start bringing these to us now, this way we can plan ahead and know what we still need to accquire. If you have some spare time on the day, we always need people to help set up, clear away and maybe help for an hour on a stall.

The theme this year is “Jubilympics”, a celebration of the Queens Jubilee and the forthcoming Olympics!! If, after the Jubilee celebrations you have any bunting, paper plates, serviettes etc left over, all would be a welcome contribution to the summer fete.

Thanking you all in advance for your help and contributions.

All welcome at the next PFA meeting….planning for the Summer Fete!!

The next PFA meeting will take place at Roding Primary School, on Tuesday 15th May at 7.30pm. If you would like to come along, just to see what we do, maybe you have a suggestion you would like to put forward-a new event, ideas for the Summer Fete maybe, you are all more than welcome. You do not need to attend every meeting and any help is greatly appreciated, not only by the PFA, but ultimately by the children at Roding.

We look forward to seeing you there. If you would still like to contribute, but cannot attend the meetings, please contact us via our email address, which is: rodingpfa@hotmail.co.uk .

Hope to see you there.

Fashion Show cancelled…

Sadly, we have had to cancel the forthcoming Fashion Show. Unfortunatley there was insufficent support from the school community and therefore ticket sales did not reach the number required in order for the show to take place. Hopefully we will try and put on this show again at a later date, but can only do this if we receive a great response from parents/carers and we sell lots of tickets.

Calling all unwanted christmas presents

As you know each year a great deal of effort and organisation goes into making our Summer Fete, yes, summer fete,( its only round the corner), a huge success and with this in mind the PFA would love parents/carers/children to donate any unwanted christmas/birthday presents you may have to the school for the summer fete. We can use these for various prizes/tombola at the fete and would be a great help to us.

So, if you have just or are having a clear out in the near future, think of Roding and the lovely warm summer evenings to come and donate your unwanted gifts to us. You can leave them at the office, marked to the PFA and they will be passed onto us.

Your help and generosity is greatly appreciated.

The Parents and Friends Association would like to wish everyone a restful and exciting christmas and a very Merry New Year.

He’s behind you…..

The PFA would like to extend a massive THANK YOU to everyone who helped make our annual Pantomime a roaring success.

All the children said what a fantastic time they had and they should all be very proud of themselves for their exemplary behaviour.

As soon as I know how much we all raised for the school, I will of course let you all know.

Sold Out…Sorry no more tickets avaliable

Due to overwhelming demand, all the tickets have now been sold for the pantomime tomorrow. This means that there will no longer be any opportunity to purchase tickets for the performance on the door.

Thank you to everybody who has purchased a ticket and supported the school with this event…see you tomorrow.  Mrs Read

Only two more sleeps……

This Year’s Pantomime is nearly here and I cannot wait!  Hopefully everybody who has requested a ticket, has now recieved one. These were given out by the Teachers on Tuesday via your children. A few tickets are still avaliable, so if you would like to come along and support the school, then you can purchase a ticket on the door, on a first come, first served basis. The doors open at 3pm and the performance will start at 3.30pm.

I hope to see you all there on Saturday. Mrs Read
